I used to think I was pretty good at photograghy but now I am not so sure. I own decent equipment, certainly not the top of the line but it still costs a pretty penny and produces good. I used to think I knew my camera pretty well, until I learned that there is so much more then the basic settings of auto, speed, and so on. I used to think I had the "eye" until I seen other people who really do have that "eye". Sure I am the only one that I know of in the dolphin community (that frequint the boards and all) that goes to Mystic on a regular basis, which in itself makes the photos special. Not many people get that chance to go to a park on a regular basis, for that I am grateful, I do. I mean anyone can get a photo in a newspaper, so that makes it not so special anymore. If a photo was used in Nat. Geo, that would be impressive. I have considered dropping it. Why post photos, no one looks or comments on them, so if it does no good to post them, why take them. I am discouraged right now. Not sure why. I haven't really been out and took photos like I used to lately. I am going on a whale watch on the 11th, not sure how many photos I will take. Maybe the wild whales will get some notice, but doubt it. I had those before and not many took a second glance.

I guess without the encouragement of comments or favs, you start to feel like you are wasting your time. Maybe this will be one hobby that I really got into, but got out of just as quick. who knows. or maybe my life and intrests are changing. Or the fact that I am going through a really hard time right now. I have spent time in the hospital and life just never seems to get better. Life is one battle after another and it never ends. so maybe I need to put my camera down for now, and maybe come back to it. Shoot I went to Mystic yesterday and only took 4 photos. thats gotta say something
